Meditation: John
As Jesus continued the upper room discourse He drew a parallel between the pain, suffering and eventual joy of a woman in labor and the sorrow, shock and eventual joy of Jesus’s arrest, torture, death and  resurrection. Jesus reminds them that He will not be alone because He has the Father. Similarly later, they would not be alone either for He overcame the world.
