Why would a passage that focuses on the promises of rest in God have warnings about fidelity and the Lord’s judgment? Does the term rest refer to a certain time or place? Did the term mean different things at different times? Arguments exist over this term and its relationship to the term God’s people. Most today believe these terms pertain to people with faith in Jesus Christ(The Messiah) and the future end of time.
