Meditation: Mark
Mark includes many miracles and allusions here. The miracles show Jesus’s mastery of nature and matter. We see parallels with the miracles that Moses did in the desert. The disciples hadn’t understood feeding the 5000 and after fighting a storm for 8 or 9 hours weren’t in any condition to be anything but amazed. Jesus walked to them on the water, climbed into the boat and then the sea calmed.
