Psalm: 97

After 20 plus years, Jacob feels the pull of the Lord to return to the land of God’s promise. This chastened and humbled Jacob has been cheated to and lied to but relies on God’s provision and protection. We also see there is no love lost between Jacob’s wives and their father.  Only God’s intervention keeps Laban and his sons from harming and maybe killing Jacob and the others and taking their possessions.
