What motivates a person to challenge or even heckle a speaker, teacher or presenter? Here Jesus points out that the self importance of his adversaries will have eternal consequences. Jesus uses Old Testament Language to state His claim to be the Messiah. The opponents were so caught up in their own understanding that their profession of faith in God and the law was actually superficial and false.
