Have you ever thought of what riches were during Jesus’s time? Did Jesus’s statement on salvation condemn reliance on wealth, other things or achievement in this world? Would we today be considered rich during those times? Many of the discussions between Jesus, his followers and enemies are hard to understand today as we don’t have the same background or the Rabinic teachings.
