When Abraham’s beloved Sarah dies, he enters into a negotiation to purchase a cave and plot/field to bury her. While he pays an excessive price, Abram is showing his faith in God’s promise that this whole land would belong to his descendants forever. This deed was binding and recorded as an unimpeachable sale. Other family members would later rest, (be buried) in this location as well.
