This passage has a miracle that is often confused with another story. One of the Gospel themes is mistaking the meanings of Jesus’s miracles and ministry. This passage shows several examples of this where some want to make Jesus king, others want to see more miracles and some want another free meal. Jesus reminds them of His mission, comparing the temporary and the external meanings.
