Can anyone even imagine the scale of evil amongst mankind for God to intercede on such a great scale? The details in this section of Genesis overwhelms the ability to understand. In spite of this,  God finds a righteous man and his family to obey his commands. They invested a lifetime in building a giant ship on land. Out of the 8 people on the ark we would see some fall away and turn from the Lord and  begin new cycles of evil.
