Psalm: 2

Meditation: Jonah
If only everyone wrote a psalm every time God delivered them from a dire situation of their own making. Here Jonah’s prayer of deliverance and thanks shows how God rescued him from the literal depths and gave him life again. He remembers the Lord’s holy temple, a symbol of God’s presence and salvation. He ends this prayer with a charge to those that follow false gods, that they themselves forsake the mercy of God.
