What is the true bread of heaven? Here Jesus explains the truest meanings of the miracles of manna and the feeding of the thousands. In those miracles something came from heaven to feed their fleshly bodies.  Jesus came down from heaven to feed their spirit/souls. Manna and the bread in Galilee lasted a day or two. Belief in Jesus will last eternally and is the truest work of the believer, see verse 29.
