Meditation: Amos
Has God’s truth and correction ever been received happily by those getting rebuked? Amos is challenged for heeding God’s call and pronouncing the future judgment as Israel slipped further from God’s way. When others try to get him to leave Israel, he reminds them that he did not aspire to be God’s messenger, but worked with sheep and trees until called by the Lord. He also corrects the lies told about his message.
