Meditation: Amos
It is interesting that God uses His people as a witness to both His love and justice. Here God uses the pagan neighbors to witness the corruption of His people and the punishment that will be allowed against them. The list of transgressions is long with their callousness towards the weak, the poor and turning away from a relationship with God. Instead they focused on rituals and sacrifices to false gods and would be led away.
