Psalm: 97

Meditation: Esther
Mordecai and his younger cousin Esther were Benjamites. Esther was considered lovely and beautiful and found favor with the king’s officials, who presented her in the selection to be the new queen. No one knew she was Jewess as her cousin had told her to keep this to herself. She followed the months of preparations needed to be presented to the king. How strange and repugnant do these practices seem today?

Gospel:
Matt 17:14-21

New Testament:
Rev 21:1-8

Old Testament:
Esther 2:10-14
