In this vision the ending is actually a beginning. The new city has no need of locking gates, nothing that defiles will be there. There are echoes and evidence of the first Garden and God will be amongst his people. It was said that revelation was to give assurance and comfort to Christians about God’s final purposes and to increase their longing for its outcome. Do you feel this certainty really helps Christians during times of trial and persecution.
