Why would a man’s hatred of another man prompt a plot to destroy a whole nation of people? Haman was a descendant of Agag, a king that King Saul(a Benjamite) had destroyed over 500 years before. Haman’s plan would kill Mordecai  and all Jewish people in the Persian Empire. Until 80 years ago, no greater attempt at genocide towards Jewish people had been attempted.
