I was, I am, I will be are normal states of being in a natural man. For example- I was young, I am now an adult, I will someday be old. Paul is here explaining the contrast between the natural man and Jesus Christ. The past, present and future existence of Christians is explained. Paul adds the spiritual dimension to the mix. Imagine the best possible version of yourself.
