Jesus warns His followers not to tell others about the great things He had done. The people hungered for a conquering messiah that would free them and restore the glory of the former Israel. The passage mentioned from Isaiah outlines roles for the messiah focusing on justice, outreach and response from the gentiles. Could this difference explain the dissatisfaction that people had with Jesus later?
