Meditation: Jer
How do people shield themselves from a truth they don’t  want to hear? As power increases, people feel immune from both challenges and consequences. Jeremiah and his scribe Baruch were in jeopardy by a King that didn’t want to be corrected. Already restricted, Jeremiah has Baruch read God’s message to the people. The King responds by burning the scroll. Do you think he actually believed the destruction of the evidence ended the matter or its warning?
