Idolatry in Paul’s time drove the economics of some cities and societies. It also impacted lives and relationships in ways that would seem strange today. While the Bible and Paul state that idols are nothing, superstition affected the way people saw idols and how they related to people and products. Paul is saying these meats and products might impact your standing within and outside the church.
