Is it better for a Christian to be married or single? Here Paul looks at the situation from emotional, spiritual, contractual and ethical viewpoints. In societies where marriages were arranged by their families when individuals were children, Paul states outright that it is better spiritually to be free to serve and follow the Lord. This advice might have been against societal norms.
