Isaiah pronounces God’s answer to the prayers of those in Jerusalem.  The arrogance of the Assyrian King and mocking of God will lead to the King’s death and the destruction of his army. The entire Assyrian Empire would be destroyed about 100 years later. God had used the nations around Israel and Judah to drive His people back to Him.
