After praising and thanking the Philippian Christians for their steadfast belief, Paul begins a discussion of his situation and how it helped spread the Gospel amongst the Roman Guard and people. Paul points out that the Gospel goes forth, whether the motives of those preaching are pure or not. Paul tells us to strive for Christ – whether thriving or suffering, keeping our conduct worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
