Solomon, like his father David before him, knew from a young age the plans his father and God had for him. How can someone whose nickname means Beloved of God fall so far away and not care about the consequences of his actions? Like King Saul, Solomon tried to thwart God’s plan and prophecy by attempting to capture and kill the next king of Israel.
