Psalm: 63:1-11

Meditation:  1 Kings
This passage shows that King Rehoboam had the wisdom not to challenge God’s warning and he sent his forces home rather than lose all his men. The new king of the Northern 10 Tribes, (Israel thereafter) Jeroboam starts off his kingship by returning his people to idolatry out of fear that they might return to Jerusalem and God’s temple. Israel and its kings will continue down this path to destruction.
