Psalm: 72

Meditation: 2 Samuel
Revenge, family, and politics are at the heart of this story. Joab, David’s chief subordinate, murdered Abner who had killed (not murdered) Joab’s brother after Abner made peace and submitted. To prevent Abner from eclipsing his position was never known. David’s relationship to Joab, and maybe his need for him, kept David from taking legal action against him.

Gospel:

New Testament:
Acts 16:16-39
