Psalm: 56, 57

Meditation: Mark
Like many plays and shows today, this passage is written backward chronologically. It is also confusing because this Herod is not the same king or ruler of the same territory as his father (the Herod of the Nativity and Jesus’s childhood). This and later stories show the family traits of lust, arrogance, pride, paranoia, and contempt of truth and justice.

Gospel:

Mark 6:14-29

New Testament

Acts 15:36-16:5

Old Testament

2 Samuel 2:1-11
