After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples and followers to open their minds to the meanings of the scriptures and the purpose of what they had witnessed only a short time before. He did this to prepare them for the path that God had set before them. This period of reminders and preparation ended when Jesus led them out to Bethany, blessing those with Him as He into heaven.
