Psalm: 148, 149

Meditation: Matthew
Where the word ‘blessed’ shows God’s favor, Jesus’ use of the word ‘woe’ shows God’s displeasure.  Jesus outlined how the so-called “people of God” had persecuted and killed those that fulfilled God’s will and performed acts of righteousness. This was a hard sentiment to accept for the religious leaders of 2000 years ago, just as it is for us to accept today in 2022.

Gospel:

Matthew 23:29-39

New Testament:

Romans 10:4-17

Old Testament:
1 Samuel 17:50-18:4
