What makes someone guilty? Can we gain favor with men and maybe God by making a rash oath? Once again, Saul is creating problems for himself, his son, and his people because of his pride and desires. Jonathan’s unknowing violation of his father’s oath shows how foolish and costly a lack of love and respect for God could be.
