Who or what is a disciple? What is the difference between a disciple and an apostle then? The transition from one to the other is outlined in Acts as the eleven remaining disciples choose a twelfth and take on their new responsibilities. This passage shows their relationships with Christ and how He would use them as witnesses, messengers, and leaders for the future of the Church.
