Meditation

Hebrews: “He [God] guaranteed it by an oath, so that through two unchangeable things [God’s word and His oath], in which it is impossible that God would prove false, we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged to seize the hope set before us.” (vv. 17b-18) I think that in an effort to reassure us, God’s oath was added to His word! He is saying to us: “I swear by My word…” as though God’s word were not enough – turns out it isn’t.
