Psalms: 78:1-39

Meditation

Luke: “When the days drew near for Him to be taken up…” (v. 51) seems to hint either at Holy Week or at Jesus’ Ascension. At this point we are not even halfway through Luke’s account, so we may perceive there is yet a lot more to come. Time means nothing to God whereas Jesus, as a man, wants not to waste any. In this passage, the Samaritans cannot be bothered by Him so it’s time to move on. Remember, Jews and the Samaritans loathe each other. James’ and John’s solution is to call down fire from heaven, but Jesus just wanted to move on.

Gospel:

Luke 9:51-62

New Testament:

Hebrews 6:1-12

Old Testament:

Ezekiel 4:1-17
