Psalm: 55
Meditation
Hebrews: Much of this block of Hebrews is very technical and somewhat steeped in legalese. The chapter talks of two covenants: Sinai and Calvary. The Old Covenant is “old” because it became obsolete once the New Covenant was established with blood. This is the fulfillment of Abraham’s noble attempt to offer Isaac in sacrifice as commanded by God, but his hand was stayed by God. Not so at Calvary for God accepted the perfect sacrifice which Jesus offered as Himself.
