Psalm: 96

Meditation

Luke: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life…” This verse, along with others like it, ranks among the most useless in all of Scripture. That comment has more to do with us than Jesus Who issued it. This particular command requires a great deal of faith and because we’ve mastered worry, we are now in a good place to assess our own walk. Jesus’ point is that we worry about the transitory and not the eternal. Life is too short to focus on the transitory.

Gospel:

Luke 12:22-31

New Testament:

James 5:13-18

Old Testament:

Baruch 3:24-37
