Psalm: 103
Meditation
James is very big on “be doers of the word” (v. 22) which has pitted many on the horns of a dilemma: when does “doing” become “work”? James clarifies that question by suggesting an old habit of God’s: to care for the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” (v. 27) That last item will keep us busy enough so as not to entangle us in that age-old debate of faith versus works.
