Wisdom: This is another ode to wisdom. The Pseudo-Solomon, writer of this book, because he’s trading on the name of Solomon, picks up and expands on Solomon’s devotion to wisdom. While the whole book extols the virtue, indeed the necessity of wisdom, chapters 8 and 9 go deeper. This passage from Wisdom expands even upon that. We are reminded that nothing of a material nature survives death, but of that which does survive, wisdom proves the greatest treasure.
