Psalms: 49, 54

Meditation

Daniel: Belshazzar, son or, more likely, grandson of King Nebuchadnezzar, was entertaining all the nobles of his kingdom – about 1,000 in all. Suddenly a human hand (and I imagine it to be gigantic so that all could see it) appeared and wrote a strange (i.e., foreign) and ominous message on the wall. Belshazzar’s knees were knocking, and he may have collapsed from terror. He called for all the magicians to read and interpret the writing, but none could. Read on.
