Daniel: Daniel’s life was favored by God from beginning to end. Here we see Daniel and his 3 friends carried off to Babylon – perhaps as young as 13 (my guess). He was chosen to serve at King Nebuchadnezzar’s court. In order not to defile themselves with foreign food, Daniel and his friends ask for and received only vegetables to eat.  They thrived better than those who had full fare. These 4 (Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, & Azariah) proved invaluable to the king.
