Luke: This is the Easter season and yet this passage brings us back to Jesus’ baptism. Why? We sinners need constant reminders of how much God loved his Son. Here he declares “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased. (v. 22) Here also is a manifestation of the Trinity – the Holy Spirit showing himself as a dove. “I am well pleased” means so much more than “I’m proud of you.”
