1 Peter: Spiritual maturity is the responsibility of each Christian for himself. “Crave spiritual milk so that you may grow up in your salvation…” (v. 2) Spiritual milk is but the beginning, for eventually we must move on to solid food (see Hebrews 514). Peter later writes that we are a chosen people whereas the unbelievers were destined to fall. “Unbelief is destined to result in eternal destruction” (NIV Study Bible p.1928
