John: This is but days before Jesus’ death. I have never understood v. 22 because there is no more mention of these Greeks – let’s call them “God-fearers”. Perhaps they show up here to give us a glimpse of the scope of the effectiveness of Jesus’ crucifixion, embracing Jew and Gentile alike. Jesus’ mission was first to the “lost sheep of the house of Israel”. (see Matt. 15:24)
