Romans: At age 75 Abraham received the promise of Isaac and the land of Canaan as an inheritance. Abraham and Sarah had to wait another 25 years before the miraculous birth of Isaac. Abraham and Sarah were as good as dead when it came to child-bearing and laughter (meaning “Isaac”). But Abraham “believed God” and it was accounted to him for righteousness. As we accept that Christ died for our sins, so it is then credited to us as righteousness.
