Meditation

Mark: We often hear of Jesus’ power. Here we get a glimpse into His authority over demons, as Jesus approaches the region of the Gerasenes on the eastern shore of the Lake of Galilee. This was a Gentile region. A demon-possessed man rushed at Jesus and fell to his knees. “Swear to God you won’t torture me.” 1) the demoniac fell to his knees; 2) Swear to God you won’t torture me. Oath-taking was very serious business with Jews – See Numbers chapter 30.
