Isaiah: This section ends with “… to make for Yourself a glorious name.” (v. 17) And why not? Here we have what amounts to a thumbnail sketch of Israel’s history. First that they exist at all, and 2^nd that the LORD loves them – for no other reason. Of course, the people turn from Him but with dogged determination, the LORD, time and time again, rescues them…  “according to the abundance of His steadfast love.”
