Psalms: 75, 76

Meditation

Mark: The feeding of the 4,000 is much less embarrassing to the Apostles, for here Jesus doesn’t ask them to provide for the people when clearly, they were not able to. Jesus, perhaps as a subtext as “bread of life” then multiplies the loaves and fish to feed the crowd. Everyone likes a free lunch. The point here is that Jesus’ compassion for the people prompted Him first to give thanks and then to distribute the food. Give thanks, give thanks, give thanks!

Gospel:

Mark 8:1-10

New Testament:

Galatians 4:12-20

Old Testament:

Isaiah 52:1-12
