Psalms: 124, 126

Meditation

Mark: Since Mark spent so much time (or space) talking about this issue, it must be important. Mark is celebrated for being succinct in his writing so the subject must, therefore, be weighty. And so it is. Pharisees and their ilk, wise, and very keen; their predecessors had established guidelines to help them to keep the it. At Passover the Law said one may not have yeast well ahead of that festival. The tradition became more important than the Law. Oddly enough, that didn’t work either.

Gospel:

Mark 7:1-23

New Testament:

Galatians 3:23-29

Old Testament:

Isaiah 51:1-8
