Psalm: 83

Mark: This is not an unfamiliar passage we are considering. This is the beginning of Jesus’ ministry where he sets the theme of His purpose to the Jews. “…for He taught them as one having authority.” (v. 22) A person speaks with authority more because he believes what he says or is invested in that he is doing more than just “book learnin’” I loved Billy Graham and was much blessed by his ministry. I can’t say I was impressed by any appearance of scholarship but his passion for the gospel and his love for his hearers (audience) vested him with all the authority needed. Jesus, much more so.

Mark 1:14-28

New Testament:

Ephesians 1:15-23

Old Testament:

Isaiah 40:25-31
