Psalm: 78:40-72

Meditation

Isaiah: Isaiah is addressing a people who continually turn to false gods (idols). The consequences become evident, certainly as predicted by Moses in Deuteronomy. What we have here is a people now in a figurative desert, but God will meet this thirst and drought with water and abundance. God calls for the idols to present their case before Him. Of course, they cannot. Well, to quote Isaiah here: “You indeed, are noting and your work is nothing at all; whoever chooses you is an abomination.” (v. 24) Enough said.

Gospel:

Mark 2;1-12

New Testament:

Ephesians 2:11-22

Old Testament:

Isaiah 41:17-29
