Psalm: 24
Meditation
Isaiah: Echoes of Isaiah 41 – images of deserts and droughts principally because of the obstinacy of the Jews (their penchant for idolatry). Then God, through Isaiah, tells the people in verse 25 “I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake and I will not remember your sins.” Notice that God forgives us for His own sake. To me, that means that God wants so much to love us but our sins get in the way – “for thou art of purer eyes than to behold iniquity.” (Habakkuk 1:3 KJV) So, He gives Himself permission – all this has more to do with Him than with us.
